BUSI 1110 TERM PROJECT – BUSINESS PLAN

100 marks (75 marks as below; 25 marks for citations, language, and grammar)

 Use the headings as indicated below (eg. Section 1, Section 2, etc.) in your paper

 Use APA citations (both in-text and References page)

 Write clearly and concisely

 Ensure your answers contain research and/or evidence to support your answers and present the

answers as if you are convincing an investor to invest in your business and explaining the merits

of this business to another business professional (i.e. “I want to open a hamburger stand

because I like hamburgers” is NOT an answer that will receive any marks!!)

 You will notice that each section corresponds to a chapter in the textbook and reflects one or

more of the questions at the end of the chapter under “Building a Business: Continuing Exercise”

Length Guidelines

12-15 Pages of content maximum. Double space, 12 point font. This page count should include the
following elements:

▪ Title Page
▪ Table of Contents
▪ Introduction
▪ Body

 As defined in the 12 key areas above. Make sure to justify your decisions
and choices with research as necessary.

▪ Conclusions
▪ Reference List

Key Tips to Remember:

▪ Professionalism and attention to detail matters. So for example, use the spell-check and grammar

features on your word processing software, and make sure to spell my name correctly!

▪ Make sure to proofread your paper before submitting (better yet, have someone else proof-read it

for you!).

▪ Be clear and complete but also concise in your response. Good business writing requires getting to

the point, and justifying your position. No need to try and hit a word count total by including

excessive detail. Trust me on this one: No one in the business world will thank you for saying in 10

pages what could have been said in 5, just as effectively.

▪ Have fun with this assignment! Budget your time wisely and start now.
