VT&CF Week 7 Assignment Part 1

To prepare:

• Review the Learning Resources on self-care and sustaining the personal self.
• Access and navigate to your selected case in the Case Studies interactive media in the Learning Resources.
• Consider how to motivate and empower your client toward self-care, and how you might engage in discussion about what those self-care needs are. Consider what strategies you might employ (e.g., motivational interviewing, education, use of self, etc.)
• Using the Handout Resources in the Learning Resources, develop a 1-page educational handout or visual on self-care to use with your client.
• For guidance on submitting a video to an Assignment, please refer to the Kaltura button from the Classroom Support Center (accessed via the Help button).
• Ensure that you have a quiet place to record without any distractions. 

Record and submit a 2- to 3-minute Kaltura video, in which you speak directly to your chosen social worker. In your video: 

• Empower the client to engage in personal self-care strategies. What would be an appropriate starting place?
• Use a self-created 1-page handout to educate and guide your client on self-care strategies to address vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue, or burnout (as appropriate to the case). 

Include a transcript and/or edit closed captioning on your video to ensure that your presentation is accessible.
