Our teams goal currently is to conduct preseason strength and conditioning. Goal for this workout would be to work on flexibility, core, balance, and plyometric training. The level of play is college male wrestlers so we assume they have bene wrestling all through high school. Our wrestlers have been conducting summer training on there own so we are focusing on phase 2, the strengthening phase. This is in the fall before the season starts over next 4 weeks we will progress to the power phase. Ranges were given for reps instead of a set number since our wrestlers might be at different phases ideally by end of strengthening phase they will be are to complete 12 reps with no pain. We are only given 8 hours in the off season so this workout is only a 8 to allow extra time for longer workouts, ie strengh training.

Q1 (A davis)

please come up with two questions that you had related to the topics at hand.

This can be anything that was confusing for you, any connections you made with what you read and the present-day or the past,  any big themes that emerged, etc Read “Decolonization”

Q2 (C Mitchell)

1.
Artifact: Find a recent news article (from the past 5 years) about a person in the United States who was paroled and their experience post-release. Briefly summarize the article, focusing on the parolee’s experience and the challenges or successes they encountered post-release.

2.
Think: After summarizing the article, critically analyze how the issue discussed relates to the material from Chapter 12. In your analysis, consider:

· How does the parole process and reentry experience in the article reflect or differ from the parole and community supervision practices covered in the textbook?

· What specific challenges or successes are highlighted, and how do these align with what you learned about post-release obstacles, such as employment, supervision, or social reintegration?

3.
Opinion: Share your thoughts on the effectiveness of the current parole and reentry processes discussed. Based on the article and the course material, do you believe these practices are effective in supporting successful reentry? What improvements, if any, would you suggest? Do you think enough is being done to meet the unique needs of women in prison? Why or why not? What improvements would you suggest, based on your understanding of the article and the chapter material?

Q3 (Neva)

Evaluate one aspect of paid media and discuss the significance of this (e.g., sponsored posts, contests, and influencer marketing). What are the trends in this aspect of paid media? Identify three industry examples that utilizes this aspect in paid media.

Q4 (neva art)

Which artistic movement or style in the early 20th century (e.g. Fauvism, German Expressionism, Cubism, Dada, etc) do you like the most? Explain why you prefer this movement or style. Use at least
two fully identified examples from Chapters 29 and 30 to support your discussion.  You may choose a work of sculpture, painting, or architecture, but you must make sure you explain your choice. Support your discussion with fully identified visual evidence (images),  Make sure that the images are inserted in your response. Images should be visible in the post and not need to be downloaded!

Q5 (Rebecca)

According to the article, 1) what are some key roles that social workers play in school settings, particularly in supporting students’ emotional and social needs? 2) Discuss how these roles might vary, depending on the school’s location, size, or student demographics.

Q6 (tina)

What types of non-religious luxury arts were created in Islamic cultures? How are they different from religious works of art?  may choose works of sculpture, painting, or architecture, but you must make sure you explain your choices. Support your discussion with fully identified visual evidence (images),  Make sure that the images are inserted in your response. Images should be visible in the post and not need to be downloaded!

Q7 (hinton)

Topic B: Ayn Rand’s Rational Egoism

Do some research into Rand’s rational egoism and then either defend her theory as a reasonable way to make moral judgments or argue that her way of thinking about morality is untenable. Pick a situation like charity, community service or government assistance (Welfare) and, after providing what you feel would be her attituded toward the action, discuss if you feel she is morally right.

Q8

Do some research on whistle blowing in general and Wikileaks specifically. Do you feel that Julian Assange was performing a service that was beneficial to our country?
Be sure to use parts of your moral compass to justify your position.

Additionally address the notion of whistle-blowing in general and whether you feel it is ever morally justified and under what circumstances.
Be sure to give examples and be sure to use your moral compass to explain your position.

Q9

 Design a one day Flexibility, Core, Balance, and Plyometric Program for your final assignment team/athlete. This program will be used during the team/athlete’s pre-season training time frame. For example: if you chose an NCAA Division I women’s volleyball team (Fall semester competition season), this would take place in the spring semester, once the athletes return from Christmas Break during their NCAA regulated 8 total hours per week of allowed strength and conditioning and minimal volleyball skill practice hours.

 Design the program within Excel. (You have access to Excel via your student Outlook account. See Weekly Course Content within this classroom for assistance.)

 Include total time expected to complete the program, all exercises to be completed, and organize the exercises within the appropriate category: Flexibility, Core, Balance, or Plyometric.

 In a Text Box within the Excel document: Identify and describe your team/athlete, goals, level of play, Training Program’s Focus/Objectives, Training Program’s Season Timeline, and any other relevant information to assist your instructor with their evaluation.

Example for question 9. I created my 1-day workout focusing on flexibility, core, balance, and plyometric training. In this I assumed I was one of the wrestlers and based the corrective flexibly training on my own imbalances noted. I assumed that they have been working out in off season on their own, so we skipped the stabilization phase and are in the strength phase. I added notes and a text box to the document to answer other possible questions. I will submit to the assignment tab when it is closer to mid-week in case I got to make changes. The two references I used was our textbook from NASM and I used some workouts form the Army fitness program.

Q10

Explain how and why slavery expanded over time
.

Q11

Read the following articles and summarize what the author is trying to tell the reader about slavery’s impact on the economy: Plus add your analysis of the article..did you agree with the author’s theory or view?

Did slavery make economic sense? by C.W. and A.J.K.D.

Q12

Recall the car data set you identified in Week 2. We know that this data set is normally distributed using the mean and SD you calculated.  (Be sure you use the numbers without the supercar outlier)

For the next 4 cars that are sampled, what is the probability that the price will be
less than $500 dollars below the mean?  Make sure you interpret your results.

Please note: we are given a new sample size, we will need to calculate a new SD.  Then, to find the value that is $500 below the mean you will need to take the mean and subtract $500 from it.  For example, if the mean is $15,000 then $500 below this would be $14,500.  Thus the probability you would want to find is P(x < 14,500).

For the next 4 cars that are sampled, what is the probability that the price will be
higher than $1000 dollars above the mean?  Make sure you interpret your results.  Use the same logic as above.  If your mean is $15,000 then $1,000 above is 15,000 + 1,000 = $16,000.  Thus the probability you would want to find is P(x > 16,000).

For the next 4 cars that are sampled, what is the probability that the price will be
equal to the mean?  Make sure you interpret your results.  Use the same logic as above.

For the next 4 cars that are sampled, what is the probability that the price will be $1500
within the mean?  Make sure you interpret your results.  Use the same logic as above.

I encourage you to review the
Week 4 normal probabilities PDF at the bottom of the discussion.  This will give you a step by step example to follow and show you how to find probabilities using Excel.  I also encourage you to review the
Week 4 Empirical Rule PDF.  This will give you a better understanding on how to utilize the empirical rule.  You can also use this PDF in the Quizzes section.

There are additional PDFs that were created to help you with the Homework, Lessons and Tests in Quizzes section.  While they won’t be used to answer the questions in the discussion, they are just as useful and beneficial.  I encourage you to review these ASAP!  These PDFs are also located at the bottom of the discussion.

Once you have posted your initial discussion, you must reply to at least two other learner’s post. Each post must be a different topic. So, you will have your initial post from one topic, your first follow-up post from a different topic, and your second follow-up post from one of the other topics. Of course, you are more than welcome to respond to more than two learners.”

Q14

An important part of college, and any content creation, is organizing and storing your information. When you write an academic paper, part of what you will do is use other people’s research to support your assertions. When you do this, you have to properly quote and cite this information (or paraphrase with citation), and then reference this information. When in college, the typical citation methods include APA, MLA, and Chicago. In addition, there are others such as AP, AMA, Bluebook, and IEEE.

The Week 7 Final Project requires you to have a reference page. For this reference page, you will use the citation style of your program of choice. For the Week 4 Discussion Topic, please answer the following questions:

· What citation style does your program of choice use?

· After researching this citation style, what types of challenges will you face when using this citation style?

· How does collecting other people’s research help when trying to synthesize information for your own academic endeavors (CO8)?

· What are the ethical ramifications of not quoting, citing, or referencing other people’s research in your academic work (CO4)?

Q15

Examine your personal life course. What turning points did you experience that led to where you are today. As part of this response please identify a

criminological theory
which best helps describe and or explain your unique experiences.

2. Keeping
labeling theory in mind, does sex registration (of convicted sex offenders) serve the public interests, and or does this labeling process do more harm than good? Fully explain and defend your views.

Q16

) Which of these major sociological perspectives: conflict theory, functionalist theory, interactionist theory, or feminist theory, is the most effective for understanding our system of education? Defend your choice by incorporating an example from real life.

Q17

Read the article

“POV: Artificial Intelligence Is Changing Writing at the University: Let’s Embrace It.”

and then decide how you want to respond to it.
Choose one of the following
ways.

· Skeptic, challenging the author

· Reflector, thinking about how the reading applies to you and others

· Validator, supporting the author

· Extender, applying the author’s principles to future situations

Descriptions of these roles are found below.

Skeptic – Challenge some items in the reading. Be specific about what you disagree with and provide substantive evidence (logic, examples, or even research). Here’s a way to start your post: “I disagree with many points in the editorial because…”

Reflector – Think about the concepts set forth in the reading as they relate to your own experiences or those of others. Be specific about your observations, explaining how you have reached your conclusions. Here’s a way to start your post: “Reading this article makes me think of a class I took a month ago…”

Validator – Support some items in the reading. Be specific about which points you agree with, explaining why you do. Provide evidence. Here’s a way to start your post: “I agree with many of the author’s points, such as…”

Extender – Show how the concepts might be applied in future situations. You may focus on both positive and negative ramifications. Be specific as you extend the conversation. Here’s a way to start your post: “This editorial made me wonder how the concepts might be applied to…”
