television show, or movie). After choosing your artifact, address each of the questions. Your entire response should be 1 ½ to 2 typed double-spaced pages. It should be 1-inch margins, 12 pt font in Times New Roman. Do not include the question in your submission. Do not include the question in your submission.
All assignments must be submitted as an attachment in x, , or .rtf file format. Assignments will not be accepted in any other format.

1. Who created this message? In your response, discuss how the producer/creator serves as a gatekeeper. What are the primary belief systems of the creator shown in the artifact? What is the creator trying to tell you, sell you, or teach you about society?

2. Which of the five major functions does your artifact accomplish? In your response, define which of the five functions you chose and explain how your artifact satisfies this definition.

3. Apply cultivation theory to your artifact. In your response, discuss what lifestyles, values, and points of view are represented or omitted in this message? What does this tell you about how other people live and believe?

4. Discuss the media effects of your artifact. In your response, discuss what is your interpretation of the overall message? Does it have a reciprocal or boomerang effect? How and why might different people understand this message differently than you?
