This is just the short discussion post “This week, we begin our entry into problem-based learning. The first step is to define a problem. Here, you will have complete freedom to research and identify a problem within healthcare administration that you are passionate about. Or, perhaps an area you are interested in learning more about.

• Identify a problem within the context of healthcare administration, as the foundation of your research project for the remainder of this term.

  Consider the short and long-range influences of this problem. What types of professionals are impacted, what clinical areas are involved, what type of care setting is this present in, what external factors influence the problem, etc.

• State the problem as concisely as possible. Then, explain your reasoning for choosing this problem. Discuss why this is relevant to your study of healthcare administration at the graduate level. How might this research support your career goals?
