Confidentiality” simulation in the Navigate Scenario for Health Care Ethics First Edition Jones & Bartlett Learning: LearnScapes: Confidentiality. Do not answer the multiple-choice questions at the end of the LearnScapes episode. Also, do not email your recommendation to me (the instructor) as indicated in the LearnScapes episode.

Suppose Dr. A, an oral surgeon, has learned that two (2) of his patients have contracted HIV. Dr. A

refused to get an HIV test. However, he got ill and went into the hospital for an outpatient

procedure. The hospital tested his blood without Dr. A’s consent. The results showed Dr. A was

positive for HIV. The hospital entered Dr. A’s test results in his medical record and did not limit

access to his chart. Considering the materials we have studied throughout this course, briefly

describe Dr. A’s legal rights. Then briefly describe the legal rights of Dr. A’s patients. Include a

reference to at least one case in our textbook.
